We’ve just bought a Honda Acty!

You may have seen on our socials that there’s a new vehicle in the Tegiwa fleet this week. In this blog, we’re going to give you some context about why we’ve decided to import a Honda Acty and why it’s such a cool and quirky little thing!

As we’re always nipping out to various suppliers to pick up parts and get new tyres fitted, it was apparent that we had a need for a small run around that could handle these jobs. So, we trawled through the Japanese auction sites until we came across this lovely little 1994 4WD Acty! With our bid placed, we sat tight and waited for the auction to end. Low and behold, we’d won our little Kei truck.

Fast forward 6 weeks and our regular container delivery from Japan had arrived at Tegiwa HQ. These containers are laden with JDM brands such as Bride seats, J’S Racing and Genuine Honda parts to name just a few. However, this container had a nice little surprise tucked away at the back of it. Our Honda Acty!

We couldn’t wait to get it out and see it in the Staffordshire sun light. All we had to do was insert a splash of fuel, give it a jump start and the little 660cc motor fired up straight away! Result.

It wasn’t long before the obligatory Tegiwa branding found it’s way onto the Acty with a digital camo sun strip and some 50cm stickers on the side. Once we’ve tidied it up a bit, the Acty will be getting a proper Tegiwa livery, which we’ve already mocked up.

Next up, we’ll be changing the wheels. We imported a set of Genuine Rays wheels too which came in the container. These are 14″x5J Cal Choppys from 2002, so they are pretty retro. Opinions will be divided, but once you take off the chrome dish they have a 5 spoke design underneath. These will then be converted into Speed Choppys, which we’re sure are going to look the part!

It would have been rude not to get some shots of the Acty loaded up with JDM parts!

Are you a fellow Honda Acty owner too? We’ve just listed a plethora of Genuine Honda parts for these nifty little trucks, so finding a replacement part has never been easier. Check out the range, here.
