Buddyclub was founded back in 1990 by Formula 3 driver Mitoshi Kakimoto. Kakimoto's Race Proven technology transfer applied onto track performance parts known as "Buddy Club" performance aftermarket parts. In 1993 Buddy Club formed the "First Racing" Team and was a successful participant in the famous JGTC (Japan Grand Touring Championship) and N1 Super Taiku Endurance Races in Japan, this resulted in Buddy Club being acknowledged as a prestigious race team and brand in the Japanese tuner market.

The Buddyclub philosophy of selling the parts that you race with has always been important and the groups catchphrase of “race on Sunday, sell on Monday”, is still as true today as it has ever been.
